The laptop has made a good overall impression. The HP Pavilion 14 has a simple exterior; its white display cover imparts a certain elegance. The keyboard is comfortable and includes backlighting. The display’s values are slightly above average (except for the meager contrast ratio).

Performance is very well suited to most everyday needs. The fact that our test model had to be exchanged due to Wi-fi problems does cloud the overall picture a little, but such an issue should usually fall under the warranty agreement and therefore be easy to resolve.

The processor is very well adjusted for a device that is intended for online shopping, movie nights on the couch and writing emails. The lower performance over time has a positive impact on fan noise and limits heat development without affecting the device’s performance when using office applications or browsing the web. Even the 3DMark Fire Strike results that evaluate gaming performance are better than the average for this iGPU.
